Beef Burgers with Oven Wedges

Homemade patties cost a fraction of the frozen ones.

Ingredients

  • Beef mince600 g
  • Bread rolls4 ea
  • Potatoes800 g
  • Cheese slices4 ea
  • Tomatoes200 g
  • Lettuce100 g
  • Brown onion100 g
  • Olive oil30 ml

Method

  1. Heat the oven to 220C. Cut the potatoes into wedges, toss with half the oil, season, and roast for 35-40 minutes.
  2. Grate the onion and mix into the mince with plenty of salt and pepper. Shape into four patties wider than the buns.
  3. Cook the patties in the remaining oil over medium-high heat for 4-5 minutes a side.
  4. Lay a cheese slice on each patty in the last minute and cover the pan so it melts.
  5. Split and toast the buns, then build with lettuce, sliced tomato and the patties. Serve with the wedges.
